Important Note: 

The latest Deye EV charger supports flexible installation, allowing it to be connected either on the grid side or directly on the inverter side, with normal charging operation available in both configurations. A SmartTX device is no longer required for basic connection to the inverter. 
However, SmartTX remains necessary when load-side smart energy management functions are desired, including advanced energy flow monitoring and coordinated control between PV, battery, and the charger via WiFi or LoRa communication. 
In summary, the system operates with standard charging functionality without SmartTX (whether grid- or inverter-connected), while the addition of SmartTX enables enhanced smart energy management and communication-based control. This distinction is important, as the current manual does not clearly differentiate between basic operation and advanced smart energy management features.
